Hello. I'm Annie Seif, a self-taught American artist located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.  I was raised in seeing the beauty in the world around me, and because of this, I have always gravitated towards the arts. I was blessed to have parents who encouraged my fascination with art. Throughout my childhood, I was able to visit and explore various museums and exhibits across America to discover and learn about art movements, artists, and various mediums.

         I have explored various mediums of art throughout the years such as: photography (landscape), charcoal, pastels, collages, and watercolor (paint and pencils). Recently, as early as the Global Pandemic lockdown, I've been focusing on acrylic paints. I use creating art as a form of therapy. It’s a wonderful way to decompress and escape my reality for a bit while expressing my thoughts and feelings on my canvases.

         I didn’t choose a career in the arts but found a profession where I could still incorporate it into my day-to-day job – as an elementary school teacher. I spent six years teaching before transitioning into my current career path in Medical Education.

         My work with acrylic painting took off during the Covid 19 lockdown. After teaching my students through Zoom, I would use the extra downtime to discover, learn and hone my skills. After a year of getting back into art on a regular basis, I took a leap and decided to share my artwork virtually.

 I first started out with sharing them on my personal social media accounts with my friends and family.  Once I started getting some feedback, I felt more comfortable with sharing them with the rest of the world. I created an Instagram account to share my work @annie.mak.art and has used Tik-Tok to have my art shared globally.  

I have recently participated in an exhibit from M.A.D.S. Art Gallery in Milan, Italy. I was blown away with the opportunity to submit a piece of my work into the M.A.D.S. Art Gallery exhibit titled, "Interferences".  The exhibit was from February 16th - 22nd.  That was the first exhibit I would be a part of in the global art community, and I was beyond excited for the opportunity.
