Today, I went back to watercolor, but in all my paintings I used very watered down paint to give it that oriental look. I tried two that was kind of like abstract and the bottom two were more of a summer vibe painting. I really like how they turned out, especially "The evil eye" painting since it turned out to look very abstract-y and a nice decoration for my room. These also didn't take a very long time since I didn't really need to sketch before I painted. Overall, I really love oriental paintings and I definitely will be making more of these.
Today I tried something a little different! This is a design with just two different types of white yarn. I made them just through wrapping the yarn around a book a couple of time and then, cutting the yarn at one end of the book. Then, I knotted them on the wooden road. I used tape to try to cut it into chevron shape so that it would look neater. Before I thought of braiding the yarns, it looked very messy. I also just leave the bottom of the yarn loose hanging, so it wouldn't look to stiff with the braids.
I recently started to paint on apparels since I kind of ran out of canvas to draw on due to quarantine, but I did have a lot of fun with designing in the past, so I decided that it was right to try painting on clothes. I was actually cleaning out my closet when I found this old pair of overalls that I never really worn. I thought that this was perfect for me to turn this boring old looking overalls to a trendy modern looking pair of overalls. I also have an obsession with stars so I decided that would be my over all theme for this design. It took quite a while to make this since it was my first time painting on clothing and I was kind of nervous to mess up. I later added some glitter on it to spice things up a bit. At the end, I was pretty happy with the finishing product and I feel like I definitely will be painting more on apparels in the future.
Today I decided to paint a sunset with two palm trees. One of my favorite medias of art is watercolor, so I did choose to use this into my painting. I am also, obsessed with painting landscapes and seascapes. I found that sunsets and beaches are one of my favorites to paint. Not only that, but in my painting I like to use a lot of vibrant color to show movement. For example, I chose a variation of colors for the sky and the ocean. In this sunset painting, I used mainly horizontal think strokes to show some sort of movement. I also contrasted or another words, toned down the painting by adding a foreground that is all dark. Since I am also not a big fan of just using black, I mixed black with some umber so that it looks more like a shadow in some parts, that is reflected by the sun. Overall, I think that this was a fun experience to try over times like this!
