Some of the activities that your child will enjoy in the class will include:
• Instruments play/exploration: Your child will play and explore suitable instruments for his/her age. They will learn to play with a steady beat and rhythm pattern. He or she will also discover melodic ensemble playing in later stage. Instruments play also strengthens motor skills and improves hand-eye coordination. Children will also participate in musical games, learn musical concept, vocabulary and pre-music reading skills in later stage.
• Songs and rhymes to promote verbal expressions. Children will sing and recite age-appropriate songs and rhymes. This will help to develop their vocal chords, inflection (intonation and pitch in voice) and imitate rhythm.
• Focused listening with music/sounds to develop listening skills.
• Storytelling/Picture Talk and Pretend Play/Puppetry with music/sound effects. Children will discover the world through storytelling/picture talk and pretend play/puppetry will nurture their creativity and imagination. Children will make 'music' whilst playing with appropriate instruments or props during pretend play. They will also be given the opportunities to role play and provide ‘solutions’ when necessary as this will help them to be better problem solvers later in years.
• Creative Movement/Physical Activities. Your child will have lots of fun moving to music in a group (with synchronised and expressive movement). These activities build your child’s motor skills and develop balance and coordination.
