Anne-Marie Desjardins is a registered nurse, practitioner and consultant specializing in breastfeeding and maternal-infant care in Toronto.

She has been a Breastfeeding consultant since 1978. She began her private practice, BESTFEEDING, in 1994. For almost 40 years, she has been teaching prenatal classes at several Toronto Hospitals and private locations and helping mothers, mothers-to-be and couples with breastfeeding problem solving. She specializes in many breastfeeding issues such as difficulty latching, flat, sore and cracked nipples, low milk supply, breastfeeding twins, and more.

Certified Lactation Consultant

Anne-Marie Desjardins received her Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing from the University of Moncton in 1978. Having worked in the public health sector in Ontario until 1985, she furthered her studies and in 1988 obtained her Master's Degree in Nursing from the University of Toronto specializing in maternal and newborn care.

With her experience helping breastfeeding mothers as a nurse and her highly specialized knowledge in this field, Anne-Marie went on to work at Mt. Sinai Hospital as a clinical nurse specialist until 1994. Since the birth of her first daughter, she began her independent breastfeeding practice as a consultant in breastfeeding and newborn behaviours. She obtained her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant certificate (IBCLC) in 1997.
