Swim Lessons
What are swim lessons like?
When i teach lessons I start by teaching the child to keep their mouth closed underwater and hold a bubble. Then I move onto learning to kick and then using their arms, I also teach them to float on their back and know how to roll over onto their back so that they can breathe. I end the lesson with jumping in the pool and turning around to touch the wall and pull themselves out. If they are more advanced I work on backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Throughout the lesson for all skill levels, I reinforce safety and what to do in order to save themselves.
Of course no one lesson will be exactly like another due to how your child learns so I am flexible when it comes to teaching lessons.
What to have:
Goggles! goggles are a must, pool water hurts your eyes and it helps to be able to see underwater. (I have extra pairs on hand at all times if needed)
Pull long hair up! its hard to swim with hair in your face
No floaties! I'm teaching your child to be able to swim without them!
Swim wear!
