Skate Care

When you receive your club skates make sure you have soaker guards (a fabric guard) and hard guards.

1. Hard guards are to be kept on skates when your skater is wearing them! Skaters should NEVER walk without hard guards on. In doing so will damage the blade.

2. Skaters are encouraged to remember which color guards they have, as they are sized to fit that particular skaters blade size. This is especially important when attending meets.

3. When your skater is off the ice, please wipe the snow and excess water off the skates. Place the soaker guards on the skates and allow them to dry. Store skates with the hard guards on when they are dry. Keeping them dry is important to keep the blades from rusting.

4. Should something become loose or broken please let the equipment Manager or coach know as soon as possible.

5. Skates should be sharpened regularly.
   New members will be guided through this process.
