Visual-Social Semiotics is a field of research which focuses on how people interact with, interpret, and respond to different images. Rather than respond to the layout and structure of an Arizona Tourism website, this analysis focuses solely on the photographs therein; their subjects, color palettes, and placement all have an effect on the reader through various metafunctions. It was through this project I began to understand the importance of context and audience response when adding visuals and symbols to a work.
