I completed my bachelor's degree at Houghton College (now University) in 2021, with a major in philosophy and a minor in leadership studies. The same year, I moved to Waco, TX to begin my PhD in philosophy at Baylor University, where I am currently a fifth-year student.
My main areas of interest are epistemology and philosophy of religion. Within epistemology, I am particularly interested in virtue epistemology and what it is to be a virtuous epistemic agent. Within philosophy of religion, I am interested in defending Reformed theological distinctives and applying them to the questions raised by analytic philosophy. My dissertation, supervised by Dr. Charity Anderson, is an epistemological analysis of vows which implicate one's future beliefs, a practice which is found in several branches of the Christian tradition.
I am also interested in non-traditional models of education, the place of philosophy in education, and the value of philosophy for the layperson. I am currently the co-director of Baylor's Christian Scholars Forum, an interdisciplinary discussion group for graduate students and young faculty on the subject of faith and scholarship.
When not doing philosophy, I spend my time ballroom dancing, cooking, enjoying the outdoors, and losing to my fiance at chess.
