My Research
My research centres on the nexus between gender and genocide. I am broadly interested in how gender, masculinity, and vulnerability intersect after genocide and conflict, and how this impacts framings of victimhood.
In my PhD project, I ask how male victims of sexual violence were conceptualised and approached by international legal mechanisms after conflict - specifically the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. I analyse how the two tribunals interpreted victimhood in their work.
