As long as I can remember I was always involved in lending a hand. I was raised on a strong sense of pride in community. When my family saw a neighbor clearing snow, we came over with shovels. Every time I saw a chance to help someone I jumped right in with enthusiasm. It brought me joy in a way that no other activity did. Only through volunteering have I had a world of opportunity open up to me.
