I was born in Belgium but finished school in France. At the age of twenty one years, I had a wonderful opportunity to come to the United States and improve my English. I lived with an American family for a year in San Juan Capistrano and went to Saddleback College where I took an ESL course. At the end of that year though, I went back to France. I worked for Air France for 15 years, during which time I was a salesperson, an instructor, and a supervisor at two different airports.
In 2003, I came back to the United States and went back to Saddleback College. I loved it and particularly enjoyed my Spanish courses and teachers! I eventually earned an AA degree with a Spanish major.
As a result of the encouragement of my professors, I never stopped studying and I recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature at U.C.I., where I taught Spanish, French and German. For many years, I hoped to one day have the opportunity to teach at Saddleback College. My dream came true: I became a Spanish teacher at Saddleback and simultaneously started a new journey; an online teaching journey through @ONE.
I'm honored to share my final capstone project with you for the CVC-OEI/ @ONE Advanced Certificate in Online Teaching Principles. Please, come on board, and you will discover my learning process and growth in the 5 @ONE Principles for Quality Online Teaching.
