America Nepal Medical Foundation would like to thank the donors for supporting Nepal during this second pandemic. Here are some of the ways your contribution is being used to help those in need in Nepal during this pandemic.

Distributing Oxygen Concentrators

ANMF has distributed a total of 53 oxygen concentrators to 28 different places in Morang, Arghakhachi, Lamjung, Tanahun, Rupandehi, Khotang, Bhaktapur, Baglung, Nawalparasi, Bhojpur, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Ramechhap, Chitwan, and Jumla. ANMF also provided a high flow oxygen device to Kathmandu Model Hospital.

Isolation and Oxygen Therapy Center

ANMF in collaboration with Kathmandu muncipality and other organizations has set up an isolation and oxygen therapy center at the Birendra Hospital Satellite Center in Samakhushi, Kathmandu. The isolation center is equipped with 88 oxygenated and 96 non-oxygenated beds.

As of 6th of September, a total of 369 patients have been admitted to the isolation center, of which 9 are being treated, 337 have been discharged and 23 have been referred to another hospital.

Oxygen Plant and Oxygen Filling System

ANMF has committed to two oxygen plants and two oxygen filling systems. NOVAIR, a French manufacturer, will be producing the oxygen plants and delivering them to Nepal. The expected delivery date is July first week.

Ventilators

ANMF has secured 50 ventilators from Gradian health systems in collaboration with National Innovation Center (NIC). It has arrived in Nepal and has been handed over to the 9 hospitals in the presence of Minister of Health and Population Mr. Sher Bahadur Tamang.

The list of the 9 hospitals ventilators are going to BPKIHS(5), Lumbini(5), Bir Hospital(10), Tikapur(5), Bhadrapur(5), Birgunj(5), Pokhara(5), Trishuli(5), Civil Hospital(5).


On 25th June 2021, ANMF organized an online training session for all the users of the Gradian ventilator system from all the 9 hospitals it was distributed to.

Call center for home isolation patients

ANMF has established a call center for home isolation patients in collaboration with Nepal Medical Association. The center has been operational since May 21st, 2021. The call center till now has received 1584 calls from patients and family members. The callers were provided with medical advice as well as counseling. So far, 114 callers were forwarded to specialist doctors and 107 callers were referred to hospitals.

HEOC Covid-19 Communication Center

ANMF has helped establish a communication center to help people who are having trouble arranging Oxygen beds, ICU, High intensive beds, Ambulance service, and Oxygen cylinders by coordinating with hospitals to arrange services needed for the patients. The communication center also provides general consultation with the Medical officers on duty and refers calls to the NMA call center for home isolation patients. The communication center is located in Health Emergency Operations Center at MOHP Ramshahpath, Kathmandu.

So far, the communication center has arranged over 165 oxygen beds, 40 ICU beds, 3 HDU and 13 General beds arranged via this service. Also, 239 calls for general consultation have been received by this communication center.
