Brief Biography

I am Ankur Gogoi, a researcher driven by a deep curiosity about how groups make collective decisions and how systems of choice shape outcomes. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. at Dibrugarh University, Assam, India, under the guidance of Prof. Surajit Borkotokey.

My research lies at the intersection of Social Choice Theory, Voting Theory, and Mechanism Design, while drawing on insights from Logic, Political Economy, and Philosophy. I am particularly interested in foundational questions concerning fairness in voting systems, justice in diversity, and the legitimacy of committee selection — exploring how these principles influence the way societies organize themselves.

I had the privilege of expanding this perspective as a Visiting Scholar at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, under the mentorship of Dr. Gopakumar Achuthankutty, where I connected theoretical frameworks with real-world issues in governance and institutional design.

Guided by a belief in inclusive, transparent, and equitable decision-making, I strive to contribute to a more just understanding of collective choice. I welcome opportunities for collaboration and dialogue.
