If you want reliable noise isolation and crystal-clear call performance for daily use, choose Anker Soundcore P40i; if you need ultra-compact earbuds designed specifically to stay comfortable while lying on your side, choose Houlyn Sleep Earbuds. These two devices solve completely different problems, and confusing their intended uses is the fastest way to end up with a pair of headphones that don't fit your lifestyle.
• Anker Soundcore P40i: Delivers active noise cancellation and 60 hours of total battery life, but its larger profile makes it unsuitable for side sleeping.
• Houlyn Sleep Earbuds: Offers a flat, ergonomic design for zero pressure when resting on your cheek, though it lacks active noise cancellation and has shorter playtime per charge.
• Best for: The Anker Soundcore P40i fits commuters and professionals needing head phones for calls in noisy environments.
• Best for: The Houlyn Sleep Earbuds are the clear choice for side sleepers who want sleep headphones for calls or quiet listening without bulk.
The Anker Soundcore P40i is built for people who demand serious audio performance during the day. Its standout feature is the adaptive noise cancellation technology, which actively adjusts to surrounding sounds to create a quieter listening environment. This isn't just passive blocking; it uses advanced processing to filter out background chatter, traffic, and office hums. When paired with its six microphones and AI algorithm, this becomes one of the best bluetooth headphones for calls available today. The system ensures that even in loud settings, your voice comes through with clarity and strength, making it ideal for video chats or quick work calls on the go.
Battery life is another area where this product dominates the category. You get 12 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, and the included case extends that total to an impressive 60 hours. That is enough power to last weeks, meaning you rarely need to think about charging unless you are using them heavily all day. The case itself features a clever 2-in-1 design that doubles as a phone stand, allowing you to watch videos hands-free while the earbuds charge. For someone who travels frequently or spends long hours away from a power outlet, this convenience factor alone is a game-changer.

However, the trade-off lies in the physical design. Because the P40i houses larger drivers and active noise cancellation components, the buds are not as low-profile as dedicated sleep gear. They sit further out of the ear canal, which provides excellent sound isolation and bass response via the 11mm composite drivers, but they can be uncomfortable or impossible to wear if you sleep on your side. If your primary goal is to listen to podcasts or music while trying to fall asleep lying flat on your stomach or side, these will likely press against your pillow and wake you up. They are fantastic for gym sessions, commutes, and office work, but they are not designed for nighttime comfort.
The Houlyn Sleep Earbuds are engineered with a singular, specific purpose: to be worn comfortably while you sleep. The design philosophy here is minimalism and ergonomics. The earpieces are small and flat, featuring soft silicone ear caps in three sizes that conform to the shape of your ear armor. This creates a snug seal that blocks up to 24dB of external noise passively. While they do not have active noise cancellation, this physical barrier is highly effective against snoring, urban street noise, or noisy neighbors, creating a silent bubble for rest. The stability of the fit means they won't fall out even if you toss and turn throughout the night.
A critical feature for anyone using these is the dedicated "Sleep Mode." By clicking the touch point four times, you disable all accidental interactions. In this mode, the earbuds stop responding to touch controls, silence low battery alarms, and turn off any flashing lights. This prevents the frustration of being woken up by a beep or having the volume change randomly while you are drifting off. It is a thoughtful addition that addresses the common annoyance of smart devices interrupting rest. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity ensures a stable signal, so you can pair them with multiple devices without constant dropouts, whether you are streaming from a phone or a tablet.
The limitation here is the battery capacity compared to standard wireless earbuds. You get between 4 to 6 hours of playback on a single charge, with a total of 30 hours provided by the charging case. While sufficient for a full night's sleep plus a morning commute, it requires more frequent charging than the Anker option if you plan to use them all day for extended listening sessions. Furthermore, because they lack the heavy-duty microphone array found in the Anker model, call quality is functional but not optimized for professional use in high-noise environments. They are perfect for listening to white noise or audiobooks while falling asleep, but they are not the ideal tool for taking business calls in a busy coffee shop.

I would buy the Anker Soundcore P40i if my priority was versatility and call quality. It handles everything from commuting to working remotely with ease, offering superior battery life and active noise cancellation that truly enhances the user experience. However, I would choose the Houlyn Sleep Earbuds if my main goal was to find head phones for calls while traveling or for bedtime listening. Their specialized design for side sleepers solves a problem that most generic earbuds simply cannot address. Ultimately, the decision comes down to whether you need a daily driver for the day or a dedicated tool for the night.
While the Houlyn Sleep Earbuds allow you to listen to audio, they are not optimized for high-fidelity calls like the Anker model. The Anker Soundcore P40i is far superior for calls due to its 6-microphone array and AI noise suppression.
No, the Houlyn Sleep Earbuds rely on passive noise cancellation achieved through their ergonomic fit and silicone seals, which block up to 24dB of ambient noise. They do not have active electronic noise cancellation.
The Anker Soundcore P40i offers significantly longer endurance with 60 hours of total playtime compared to the Houlyn Sleep Earbuds' 30-hour total. The Anker also lasts 12 hours on a single charge, whereas the Houlyn lasts 4 to 6 hours.
