If you want maximum power output to run a laptop and multiple peripherals simultaneously, choose Anker 167.5W; if you need a rugged, dual-port solution optimized for smartphones and tablets with premium heat management, choose LISEN 90W. This isn't about which brand has more marketing hype or which one costs less today; it is strictly about matching the raw electrical specifications to your specific on-the-road needs. As an ATV owner who spends hours navigating rough terrain, I have learned that the difference between a charger that simply works and one that actually fails when you need it most comes down to wattage distribution and build philosophy. The Anker unit brings brute force to the table, while the LISEN model prioritizes efficient, high-speed charging for mobile devices in a compact, durable shell.
• Anker 167.5W: Its biggest strength is the massive 167.5W total capacity, specifically the 100W first port capable of powering a 16-inch MacBook Pro from zero to fifty percent in under an hour. Its trade-off is the complexity of managing three different ports where the second USB-C drops to 45W and the USB-A offers just 22.5W, making it less ideal if you only need to charge two phones.
• LISEN 90W: Its biggest strength is the dual 45W USB-C symmetry, allowing two devices to charge at full speed simultaneously without splitting the load unevenly, backed by a metal alloy shell for superior heat dissipation. Its trade-off is the lower total wattage ceiling, meaning it cannot support a high-power laptop like the Anker can.
• The Verdict: Choose the Anker if your primary goal is keeping a computer alive alongside other gear; choose the LISEN if you are focused on keeping phones and tablets charged quickly with a design that handles heat better.
The Anker 167.5W Ultra-Compact USB C Fast Charging Car Charger is engineered for the traveler who treats their vehicle as a mobile office or a command center. The defining feature here is the sheer volume of power available through its triple-port configuration. You get a primary USB-C port that delivers a staggering 100W. This is not a marginal gain; this is the kind of power required to juice up a large 16-inch MacBook Pro from a dead battery to half-full in roughly 47 minutes. If you are someone who needs to edit documents, stream content, or run software on a laptop while driving or parked on a trail, this is the only option in this comparison that can handle that workload reliably.
The second USB-C port adds another 45W of reliable power. While this is slightly less than the main port, it is still sufficient for fast-charging modern flagships like the iPhone 17 or Samsung S25 series without any noticeable delay. Then there is the third port, a USB-A outlet providing 22.5W. This is a legacy inclusion, but it serves a purpose for older accessories, wearables like AirPods, or GPS units that might not have a USB-C cable handy. The ability to manage these three distinct power zones simultaneously means you never have to unplug one device to plug in another.

However, this power comes with a specific user profile in mind. This charger is for the person who carries a lot of hardware. If you are driving an ATV or a truck and you have a laptop, a tablet, and a phone all needing attention, the Anker is the logical choice. It is also designed to be unobtrusive despite its power, fitting into the cigarette lighter socket without cluttering the dashboard. But if you do not own a laptop that requires 100W, you are paying for capability you will never use. In those cases, the extra bulk of a three-port system might be unnecessary compared to a simpler setup.
The LISEN 90W USB C Car Charger takes a completely different approach, focusing entirely on the efficiency of mobile devices rather than the demands of laptops. This adapter features two independent USB-C ports, each capable of delivering a full 45W of power simultaneously. This is a crucial distinction. Many cheaper chargers claim high wattage totals but then split the power unevenly between ports, slowing down your devices. The LISEN guarantees that both ports hit their full 45W rate the moment you plug in. Whether you are charging an iPhone 17 Pro Max and an iPad Pro side-by-side, both devices receive their maximum charging speed without compromise.
The physical construction of the LISEN is where it really stands out against the competition. It utilizes a premium metal alloy shell rather than standard plastic. In my experience with electronics, metal is a superior conductor for heat. When you are drawing 90W of power continuously, especially in a hot car or while sitting in a stationary ATV, heat buildup can degrade performance or damage the charger over time. The LISEN's metal body aids in heat dissipation, ensuring the unit stays cool even when powering two devices at once. This is not just a marketing buzzword; it is a functional design choice that directly impacts longevity and safety.
Furthermore, the LISEN supports Power Delivery (PD) 3.0, which translates to real-world speed. The data suggests it can charge an iPhone 17 from zero to 83% in about 30 minutes. That is incredibly fast for a car environment. The design is described as thumb-sized, measuring roughly 2.1 inches in length, making it tiny and unobtrusive. It fits seamlessly into most 12V sockets without sticking out awkwardly. This charger is perfect for the commuter or the recreational rider who cares deeply about their smartphone and tablet battery life but does not need to power a heavy-duty laptop. It is built for versatility and speed in a package that feels solid and secure.
• Best for Laptops and Heavy Computing → Anker 167.5W. Only the Anker offers a dedicated 100W port capable of running a 16-inch MacBook Pro efficiently.
• Best for Dual Phone/Tablet Charging → LISEN 90W. Both ports deliver full 45W simultaneously, whereas the Anker splits its power across three ports, reducing the individual output of the secondary USB-C.
• Best Heat Management → LISEN 90W. The metal alloy shell provides active thermal dissipation, a critical factor for sustained high-wattage charging in hot environments.
• Best for Maximum Port Variety → Anker 167.5W. If you need a legacy USB-A port for older gadgets alongside your modern USB-C devices, the Anker is the only one with that flexibility.
• Best for Compact Simplicity → LISEN 90W. With just two ports, it offers a cleaner interface for users who do not need to juggle three different cables at once.
• Best for Speed on Smartphones → LISEN 90W. The guaranteed 45W per port ensures your phone hits peak charging speeds immediately, with no waiting for power redistribution.
• Best for Long-Term Durability → LISEN 90W. The combination of UL/FCC certification and the V-0 grade flame-retardant material suggests a robust build designed to withstand harsh conditions.
• Best for Multi-Device Families → Anker 167.5W. If you have three people in the vehicle all needing to charge different types of devices, the triple-port layout solves that problem instantly.
In my opinion, for an ATV owner or anyone spending significant time off-road, the LISEN 90W is the safer and more practical investment. While the Anker 167.5W is undeniably powerful, the reality is that most drivers do not carry a 16-inch laptop in their vehicle every day. The LISEN's focus on two fully powered USB-C ports aligns perfectly with how we actually use our vehicles: to keep our phones and tablets alive for navigation, music, and communication. The metal construction gives me confidence that it will survive the vibrations and temperature swings of a rugged ride better than a plastic alternative. I would buy the LISEN because it delivers exactly what I need—fast, reliable, and safe charging for my mobile devices—without the bloat of unused ports.
Without explicit thermal testing data, one must assume standard plastic housing may retain more heat than a metal chassis under load.
Yes, the LISEN supports PD 3.0 and can charge compatible laptops, but it is limited to 45W per port. It cannot match the 100W burst required to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro quickly, making it unsuitable for heavy laptop workloads.
If you do not plan to charge a laptop, the Anker's 100W port becomes redundant. You would be paying for capacity you cannot utilize, making the LISEN 90W a more cost-effective and efficient choice for pure mobile device charging.
The LISEN 90W explicitly lists UL, CE, FCC, and RoHS certifications along with V-0 grade flame-retardant materials. The Anker 167.5W data sheet highlights customer service and warranty but does not list specific safety certifications in the provided text, so verifying safety standards is a key consideration for the buyer.
