THE OBJECT OF THE INSTITUTION

The aim of our center is to carry out educational duties/activities and organize for people and communities of all ages, educational, cultural and economic levels and to develop them through basic, vocational, social-cultural, sport and artistic education and training.

ABOUT APEC

"Altindag Public Education Centre (APEC)" is a non-profit public body institution that works for lifelong learning programs as official. Its duties are carried out depend on General Directorate of Lifelong Learning of Ministry of National Education.

Within the official education period of 2020-2021, our current institutional formation is as in the following;

• Director: 1 staff

• Assistant directors: 4 staff

• Regular teachers/trainers: 45 staff

• Temporary teachers/trainers: 364 staff

With these staff, we have a significant number of teachers/trainers from different branches. Our institution carries out every kinds of trainings within the context of lifelong learning contributing to people's development. Our staff numbers may vary according to official appointments  because of our legislation and regulations.

Our institution can cooperate with institutions and organizations at international level, public bodies, universities, non-governmental organizations, hospitals, municipalities, private institutions and organizations, formal education schools, and thus it carries out non-formal education services or lifelong learning programs with its own official legislation and regulation.

Our centre only can access to train the public in its own region but also access to train individuals and institutions from metropolitan city in Ankara and other regions in terms of target people.

Depending on these above statements;

• To organize and carry out trainings/courses and activities to enhance development and levels of people and disadvantage groups,

• To contribute to cognitive, academic, emotional, psychological, social-cultural, artistic for their developments,

• To protect our forgotten artistic and cultural values,

• To organize all kinds of social, cultural, sportive and artistic activities,

• To provide services of education and training for refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants coming to our country with their some problems from different countries and especially with their dense population in our region In recent years,

• To raise awareness of families with our family trainings, to provide education and developments of disadvantage women/men, and to support positive family relationship,

• To carry out trainings and activities for our disabled people. To train educators/trainers who want to train disabled people due to caring about this situation,

• To make positive contributions and morale to sick people in hospital and rehabilitation centers through our courses/trainings and activities,

• To support the right care and communication for elderly people with our courses for the care of them,

• Our centre has "Child Care Classes" for women who have children between 0-6 years of age participating in our courses/trainings. Women can leave their children “Child Care Classes” during their educations and so the children are cared unpaid. Families can benefit from our trainings to be supported,

• To prepare high school students and/or high school graduates for  university entrance exams through courses,

• To provide positive environments for young people and support their developments with courses and activities,

• To provide different sports activities/trainings and to participate national and international competitions,

• To increase its own institutional capacity and quality through national, international and EU activities and trainings within the framework of relevant legislations to be useful to people from all ages and level of education.

• To introduce and teach scientific and technological developments to people and also to raise awareness in these fields,

• To direct to educational opportunities in order to provide vocational educations,

• To teach foreign languages and to provide using foreign languages.

We strive to reach and serve education and activities with lifelong learning approach to all layers of society with our teachers/trainers as an institution

We provide educational service to people of all cultural, ethnic, social and economic backgrounds and of all ages and levels of education and support them every aspect.

“Directorate of Altindag Public Education Centre (APEC)” is an institution that it performs its duties under the Ministry of National Education in the non-formal or informal system with lifelong learning programs. It provides education/trainings for adults and young people and/or from every age people within the scope of lifelong learning as official. Our centre services within the boundaries of Metropolitan of Ankara/Turkey.

Our institution can creates relations with the other domestic/foreign governmental and private educational institutions/organizations and organize courses, activities and projects for its own beneficiaries. Every education periods, it carries out different type of courses and seminars for its own beneficiaries. It has potential, facilities and opportunities to handle all type projects. In the institution, Project Coordination Group has already been established and working with desire and success. Institution´s main theme is to develop public´s educational degree and to provide them opportunity to improve their abilities.

Our institution can actively participate in the project´s all events. For instance, in VET-ADULT-YOUTH-SPORT of “Erasmus Plus Programmes”. Our main tasks are to take part in the mobility, strategic partnership, to organize the mobility event and content, to provide experienced trainers and learners, to help the events of the project´s compilation.

APEC is authorized to open and organize every kind of vocational and art courses in its own area or district as official/governmental and as non-formal education centre. It can open and organize vocational, art, cultural-social courses, seminars and activities depend on public’s demands/needs or area’s (district’s) needs. But we have to announce about works and activities to people. So that, the people are informed about all it. APEC is not only active in its own area/region but it may be actively depends on metropolis according to demands. Everyone comes to learn to APEC from out of area/district/region or other places. There are Public Education Centres in other district and cities like APEC as official under the law and regulations. Artistic, social-cultural, academic and vocational courses also other activities are changeable depend on time and needs.

APEC are connected Ministry of National Education as online. The Ministry have got very big data base all of Turkey in non-formal or informal education and public education system for lifelong learning field.

There are very varieties courses in data base systems. Whichever course wants/demands we open and give education who demands. But as official, if there is the course in data base, we can open and realize. There are hundreds of courses and activity in the system. Also we can make and apply EU programs and projects. We are social, cultural, art, sport centre for adult, young and children.

Its official task has been operating in its region since 1972
