November/December 2021: Josh and I had a great time at sea together on the Gradients 4 cruise. We filtered a lot of water, filled a lot of bottles, saw the sun rise and set 28 time, and crossed the equator for the first time together!
October 2021: Congratulations to Josh Sacks for successfully defending his masters thesis on a new method he developed for measuring dissolved metabolites in the ocean.
These are exciting times for Josh Sacks. Congratulations on running the Bellingham Marathon in a speedy 2:48:15 - And for successfully collecting water from a CTD for the very first time!! Go Josh!

Angie successfully defended her PhD on Dec 10, 2020! Soon she will be off to do a Postdoc at University of Chicago as a Simons Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in Marine Microbial Ecology.
Wei just moved to University of Oklahoma in Norman to become a faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Plant Biology. Good Luck Wei, we miss you!
We had lots to celebrate at the paddle board party at my place - the end of summer, new lab members, new cultures growing, papers published, a wedding and a baby on the way! Yay team!
