March 2022: Congratulations to Natalie Kellogg for successfully defending her masters thesis on the relationship between Prochlorococcus and SAR11 in an oxygen minimum zone.

January 2022: So incredible to see this huge collaborative effort published! Congratulations to Daniel, Angie, and Matt for this study that integrates complex 'omics datasets to tell an elegant story about the choreography within marine microbial communities that is necessary to keep this critical engine of our planet going.

November/December 2021Josh and I had a great time at sea together on the Gradients 4 cruise. We filtered a lot of water, filled a lot of bottles, saw the sun rise and set 28 time, and crossed the equator for the first time together!

October 2021: Congratulations to Josh Sacks for successfully defending his masters thesis on a new method he developed for measuring dissolved metabolites in the ocean.

These are exciting times for Josh Sacks. Congratulations on running the Bellingham Marathon in a speedy 2:48:15  -  And for successfully collecting water from a CTD for the very first time!! Go Josh!

Katherine is now a Scientist at Integral Consulting in Seattle. Although she is not a lab member anymore, we are so excited to have her in Seattle and as a co-PI on our NSF award to study homarine. So looking forward to continuing our collaboration!

So excited to see these two papers come out on the same day,  May 4 2021! Congratulations to Angie and Katherine on their excellent works!
