Personal Background

I grew up in Skowhegan, Maine. I graduated from Skowhegan Area High School.

My father is Guy J. Williams, who retired in 2000 from Skowhegan Savings Bank. I am the youngest of five children, with four older brothers: Andy, who has retired from corporate America to become an angel investor; Larry, a music teacher at Poland High School in Maine and leader of the Larry Williams Band; Gary, a faculty member at Crafton Hills College in California; and Patrick, who works for the State of Maine in their Office of Information Technology. We lost our dear mother, Connie, to breast cancer in 2004.

I live in Pittsburgh with my husband, David Woolley, and my three sons. The irony in the fact that I grew up with four brothers and have three sons, with no sisters or daughters, while I study the benefits of having more women for collective intelligence, is not missed ;-)

I play soccer with the Pittsburgh Dynamoms. I attend Bellefield Presbyterian Church and am on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Urban Christian School.
