Dr. Anirban Mukherjee

My Brief 

My schooling was in Uttarpara - a small town in Hooghly District and I did my Bachelors in Civil Engineering in 1994 from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Got my PhD from Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur in 2014, my PhD supervisors being Dr. Utpal Garai of ISI, Kolkata and Dr. Arindam Biswas of IIEST. I am currently a Professor in the Department of Information Technology at RCCIIT where I have gained 20+ years of experience in teaching and academic administration. Before RCCIIT, I worked as Engineer in the Scientific and Technical Analysis Group (mostly working on CAD solutions of structural problems) in the erstwhile RCC, Calcutta (now NIELIT, Kolkata) situated in JU campus. 

My research interest includes Graphics, Pattern Recognition, Computational Intelligence, Optimization and Digital Pedagogy. I have co-authored 2 UG engineering textbooks and 18 DLP books on Computer Graphics/Multimedia for different IT courses of different Universities across India. Besides authoring several journal & conference papers and book chapters, I have co-edited few reference books, mostly on applications of Computational Intelligence. I am a life member of CSI and Fellow of IE(I).

Besides teaching at UG and PG engineering and guiding 4 PhD scholars I am now enjoying my new role as Principal (Officiating) of RCCIIT (https://www.rcciit.org/)
