In this paper, we follow the evolution of SN 2020sck with the Himalayan Chandra Telescope and the GROWTH-India Telescope.
The observations revealed that SN 2020sck belongs to the 2002cx-like thermonuclear explosions. The modelling of the observables revealed that explosions like SN 2020sck are due to deflagrations in carbon-oxygen white dwarfs. Deflagrations are not powerful enough to fully unbind the white dwarf and hence leaves behind a bound remnant. More such 2002cx-like objects are required to observe to understand their nature of explosion and the nature of the companion. 2002cx-like objects are quite important in galactic chemical evolution models.
