EXPERIENCE
2016 till present (University Grants Commission)
UGC-Assistant Professor (School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Biomolecular Engineering and Biotechnology, Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal)
o Job Profile: Promoting research within the University
o Courses taught (PG Level): Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Drug Designing
2015 till 2016 (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore)
Research Fellow (Division of Bioengineering, School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering)
o Research focus: Bacterial cellulose production and functionalization–
Overall objective of my research was to investigate the growth pattern of cellulose producing bacteria and design scalable bioprocessing platform for biocellulose production that can be subsequently used for surface functionalization studies as well.
2013 till 2015 (National University of Singapore)
Research Fellow (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering )
o Research focus: Biobutanol production -
Key focus of my research involved mechanistic investigation of substrate utilization of bacteria and butanol production and / or toxicity studies through proteomics based approach.
2012 till 2013 (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore)
Research Fellow (School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering)
o Research focus: Peptide tethering on Polymer surfaces –
My research projects were aimed at developing strategies for producing peptide functioinalised polymer surfaces. Key deliverables of my project are as follows:
§ Peptide immobilisation strategies on biocompatible polymer surfaces.
§ Establishing bioprocessing platforms to ensure cost effective production of peptides of commercial interest.
§ Establishing (bio-)analytical platforms for assessing the quality of the peptide tethered polymer surfaces.
§ Elucidating mechanisms of antimicrobial action of tethered AMPs.
