We characterized the population neural dynamics of the vocal-motor cortico-basal ganglia (CBG) circuit using 384-channel Neuropixels probe in zebra finches and its modulation by different behavioural states - sleep, rest, singing. In our latest preprint, we discover, from the simultaneous recordings of two brain areas in the songbird CBG circuit, state-dependent modulation of LFP oscilaltions across the CBG circuit with the LFP-spiking dynamics reminiscent of mammalian-like 'sharp-wave ripples' predominantly during sleep.
