Welcome to our research group in theoretical high-energy physics. Our members are based across the Centre for High Energy Physics (CHEP) at IISc Bangalore and collaborating institutions worldwide, forming a vibrant and interconnected research community.
We explore some of the deepest questions in fundamental physics, seeking to understand the nature of spacetime, matter, gravity, and quantum phenomena. Our research spans a broad range of topics, including quantum field theory, gravity, string theory, quantum gravity, conformal field theories, gauge theories, cosmology, quantum information, and related areas at the interface of mathematics and physics.
Combining conceptual insight with mathematical rigor, we investigate the principles that govern the universe across a vast range of scales. Our work brings together techniques from quantum field theory, geometry, holography, quantum information, and modern computational methods to study problems ranging from black holes and the early universe to symmetries, anomalies, and the emergence of spacetime itself.
Prof. Aninda Sinha is also a Senior Fellow and Interim Director (Calgary Node) of the Quantum Horizons Alberta (QHA) Initiative, a collaborative effort dedicated to advancing foundational quantum science. Through QHA, our research activities extend to areas including quantum field theory, quantum gravity, holography, and mathematical physics, fostering interactions between researchers across institutions and disciplines.
Beyond research, we strive to foster an open and collaborative environment where students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, and visitors exchange ideas across disciplines and institutions. We invite you to explore our research, publications, seminars, and opportunities for collaboration.
