There’s a lot to love about the Japanese animation style known as anime. Fans of anime enjoy watching because of the excellent stories, characters, art, music and voice acting. But fans also crave anime because it often displays a strong hero or heroine. In 2020, new anime series and movies introduced viewers to many new hero characters to love.
One of the most popular heroines of anime in 2020 was Nanami from "Kamisama Kiss." Nanami is a strong young woman who suddenly finds herself thrust into the mystical world of gods and demons, when she herself accidentally becomes a god.
Shinya, from the series "Psycho-Pass," is another excellent new anime hero. In this futuristic anime, Shinya helps to track down potential law breakers, and must constantly walk the fine line between doing the right thing, or doing what he’s supposed to.
Another captivating hero is Natsume of "Natsume’s Book of Friends." When he finds his grandmother’s Book of Friends, Natsume realizes that the spirits he’s been able to see his entire life may actually be asking him for something. He must learn more about himself and his family in order to free both the spirits and himself.
