Anime Quick Search ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles information.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The Extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not collect your name, email address, browsing history, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
2. HOW THE EXTENSION WORKS
When you select text on a webpage and use the Extension's search feature, the selected text is sent directly to the Jikan API (a public MyAnimeList data service) to fetch anime information. This text is not stored by us, not logged, and not shared with any third party other than the API service needed to perform the search.
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Extension uses the following third-party service:
- Jikan API (api.jikan.moe) — used only to retrieve publicly available anime information (titles, ratings, episode counts, synopsis). No personal data is sent to this service beyond the anime name you search.
4. LOCAL STORAGE
The Extension may use Chrome's local storage feature solely to temporarily hold your last search query during your browsing session. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
5. PERMISSIONS USED
- contextMenus: to add the right-click search option
- activeTab: to display search results on the current page
- storage: to temporarily save your last search locally on your device
6. NO ADVERTISING OR TRACKING
The Extension does not display ads, does not use tracking pixels, and does not sell or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
