History (2015 - present)
Anima Morta was founded in Heroica Puebla de Zaragoza in 2017 after formalizing their knowledge gained through musical projects and previous years.
The first name of the band was "Konfusion" a temporary name with which the project was known in 2015 until changing it to the current name of the band, the bassist Alfonso Huerta who among friends was known as "Poncho" invited the vocalist Daniel Miller to play in a music festival that would take place in the school where the guitarist Fernando Palacios studied, drummer Adolfo Adler and bass player "Poncho Huerta" this invitation was made because they needed a dynamic vocalist to play the setlist of covers in both Spanish and English, after this presentation "Konfusion" played covers in several other festivals and private events until 2017. In that same year the band name "Konfusion" changed to the current band name "Anima Morta" because the band members wanted to formalize their knowledge and skills for a project with its own identity and music.
The founders of the Anima Morta project are: Daniel Miller (Singer), Fernando Palacios (Guitarist) and Adolfo Adler (Drummer), the bass player (Poncho Huerta) was counted since the project "Konfusion" and was one of the original members of Anima Morta for a short period of time, after the founding of Anima Morta the second guitarist named Alek Miller was introduced in mid 2017, at the end of 2017 the bass player Alfonso Huerta took a different path to the band and left the position as bassist free.
At the beginning of 2018 they welcomed the new and current bass player Bernard Rios, a musician and artist who was recruited by vocalist Daniel Miller during his online gaming sessions via PC, upon realizing that Bernard was a musician and resided in Puebla, vocalist Daniel arranged to meet Bernard for the first time in a starbucks in the Angelopolis shopping centre where they engaged in a long conversation about the terms that would be negotiated for Bernard to be part of the Anima Morta project.
During 2017 and 2018 the production of the album "Lilith" began, an album that would include many of the demos that had been written by the guitarist (Fernando Palacios) such as "Llora" and "Amanecer" to mention a few.
In 2018 the album "Lilith" was finally released, the band's first album produced in the band's home studio, with a total of 9 songs based on the alternative rock genre.
In 2019 they played shows throughout the band's home state of Puebla and also in CDMX.
In 2020 their Single "My Only Cure" was released, a song with a completely different style to the one previously seen by the band, mixing musical styles such as Trap and Electro Rock, this is without a doubt a song that revolutionized the musical style of the band. On the 31st of October 2020 their second single was released titled "You Are Not Alone", a song that tackles a serious subject, depression, leaving a very clear message thanks to the deep and meaningful lyrics that leave a message of self-improvement and support to all people suffering from this disease.
During the "MID Digital Festival" a new HD song called "Melancholic Summer Vibes" was premiered as part of the band's new album in production.
In 2021 Anima Morta released their album "Lilith (Select Edition) " released on 07 December 2021 in commemoration of 3 years of the original album "Lilith" from 2018, quoting the band:
"This is our first special edition album released on 07 December 2021, we selected 5 of our favourite songs from the original album "Lilith - (2018)", this little album is closer to the professional sound we have been looking for, thanks to the producers of this album Fernando Palacios and Adolfo Adler it has been possible to find this sound we had been longing for.
"Lilith (Select Edition)" is a thank you letter to our fans and to the people who have always supported us throughout this project. Lilith is back and more energetic than ever, it's the album that started our musical career but improved."
