Research

Market design is among the most active research areas in computer science, operations research, and economics. Its central goal is to create or redesign marketplaces and platforms to maximize societal welfare and values. As modern markets and platforms become larger and larger, agents are exposed to unprecedented amounts of information, and making the right choices may require intensive computations. The interplay between the incentive issues typically appearing in marketplaces, the informational issues arising from the massive size of modern platforms, and the computational issues emerging as platforms' operations become more sophisticated, gives rise to our project.
