About Us...

Angry Acres Farm was founded in 2012 when we moved to our 5-acre homestead. The name Angry Acres started as a joke that just stuck. My mom, who goes by "Angrymom" online as a bit of fun, suggested we call the place Angry Acres. A few weeks later, a friend of my dad's drove his tractor 10 miles to help us mow the overgrown field.

What we found was wild—literally. The land was packed with multiflora rose (some nearly two inches thick), blackberries, raspberries, and even poison hemlock. Dad’s friend joked that it looked like the land hadn’t been touched in years—and that it was "very angry." I told him what my mom had said about calling it Angry Acres, and we both laughed. From that moment on, the name stuck, and I’ve embraced it ever since.

Over the years, we’ve kept chickens and pot-bellied pigs, but we’ve truly fallen in love with raising dairy goats. We started with Registered American and Recorded Grade Alpines, but eventually settled on Registered Purebred Nigerian Dwarfs, which have stolen our hearts.

We also have a North American Pawpaw patch and have made a couple of unsuccessful attempts at growing lavender—still a work in progress!

In 2018, we began making soap with our goats’ milk. At first, we gave a lot away as we fine-tuned our basic recipe. Since then, that simple start has grown into a full line of goat milk products. Today, we sell our soaps at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market, various craft shows throughout the year, online, and in our own brick-and-mortar store!

Please Note:

For the Safety of Our Herd:

Our farm is NOT open to visitors

For the health and safety of our herd, we do not allow on-farm visitors or farm tours — no exceptions.

Our farm is also our home. Just as you wouldn’t appreciate random strangers showing up in your yard to see your animals, neither do we. Maintaining a closed herd is an important part of our biosecurity protocols and helps protect our goats from outside diseases and stress.

While we love sharing our farm with the community, the best way to connect with us is by visiting our shop in downtown Mount Vernon, catching us at the farmers market, or following along on our social media where we post regular farm updates.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep our goats healthy! 🐐
