Music is a universal language that transcends spoken words. I believe it has the power to unite humans across cultures, generations, genders, and neurodiverse spectrums. In my studio, music is for everyone who chooses to participate.
Because music is also a powerful tool for improving the quality of life, I approach music instruction as an experience that is more than simply learning notes and rhythms; it is also an opportunity to grow in curiosity, confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
I believe deeply that everyone has the capacity to learn an instrument. Musicality can only be developed through curiosity, patience, and constant exploration. Each student enters their musical journey with their own motivations, and I strive to honor that by allowing you to define your intentions and goals.
In our lessons, you choose your destination. My role is to partner with you as a guide, providing the structure, encouragement, and tools needed to help you get there. Whether you are studying music to pursue a university degree or simply exploring music for personal fulfillment, I design a personalized learning experience that supports your individual path.
My goal as your teacher is to help you discover the joy, growth, and possibilities that music can bring into your life.

"I love Alissa from ANG Music. She's amazing and oh so patient with my finicky 11 year old flute player. She's encouraging her lessons are organized. We did face to face lessons but discovered that my son was more compliant and eager to learn with virtual lessons. His skill level has improved and she provides extra opportunities for playing experience throughout the year."

"Hiring Alissa to instruct my daughter in flute lessons was the best thing I have ever done. Not only did she prepare my daughter for her college auditions on the flute but because of her lessons and persistence, my daughter gained admissions to several colleges. My daughter is now a Senior at Alabama State University. She is a Mighty Marching Hornet (Piccolo) and she also is in the Ensemble (on Oboe in Freshman year and Flute Sophomore and Junior year). Although my daughter is a Criminal Justice Major, her scholarship money comes from her playing instruments at Alabama State. Thank you Alissa for being a part of our village."

"The first time I met Ms. Alissa was at a flute conference in Virginia. I was so impressed with her professionalism and willingness to work with my daughter. Because of her work with my daughter, I saw a confidence in her I hadn't seen before. Ms. Alissa helped my daughter to become first chair in her band, and to successfully get in to honors band two years in a row. I am so grateful to Ms. Alissa for her commitment to serve our community and her talent." - Caren
