My teaching grows from my interdisciplinary expertise in urban studies, economic geography, and the political economy of housing. I am committed to helping students connect complex academic debates with the realities they see and experience in their own cities and communities. Whether teaching large online courses of 100+ students or leading intimate discussion-based seminars, I strive to foster a learning environment that is inclusive, encouraging, and grounded in real-world examples.
My teaching is grounded in a student-centered, inclusive philosophy that combines interdisciplinary urban studies expertise with clear, accessible, and engaging instruction. Drawing on courses I have taught at Rutgers and SUNY Albany, I integrate experiential learning, global case studies, and practical policy simulations that help students translate complex concepts into meaningful analysis. I embrace technology, from digital platforms to cultivate critical thinking and prepare students for an evolving world. Above all, I see teaching as a collaborative process that nurtures intellectual curiosity and encourages every student to participate with confidence and purpose.
Ultimately, my goal as an educator is simple:
to empower students to think critically, see the world differently, and become more confident, informed participants in the cities and communities they inhabit.
