Hi, I’m Angie! I’ve been a private tutor for nearly 20 years, helping students gain confidence and master subjects in math and science. Over the years, I’ve worked with tutoring programs in the Dallas area, working closely with school districts such as Highland Park, Frisco, and Plano. I also served as a staff tutor at Collin College from 2015 to 2020.

Over the summer I’ve been working on certification to return to the field of Health Information Management (HIM). I’ve also added a new section under Study Guides called Explore Health Information Management (HIM) for students interested in exploring this great career path. Please keep in mind that once I return to work, my tutoring availability will be more limited.
I currently meet with students at several convenient locations around Omaha:
Sozo Coffeehouse (Downtown, 13th & Jones) – A relaxed space with plenty of seating.
Abrahams Branch Library (90th & Fort) – A quiet, study-friendly environment.
Scooter’s Coffee (120th & Blondo) – A casual, comfortable spot to meet.
Grow Nebraska Women’s Business Center (103rd & Fort) – A professional, welcoming environment for focused study.
Online tutoring is also available for students who prefer to meet virtually or need more flexible scheduling.
Before scheduling your first tutoring session, all new students must complete the New Student Form. This form helps me understand your tutoring needs, collects basic demographic information, and ensures you’ve reviewed and agreed to my tutoring policies.
Completing this form is a quick and essential step to ensure we start off on the right track! You can find the form below.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I look forward to helping you succeed!

General Tutoring Policies
I believe in the importance of holistic student success, which encompasses factors beyond tutoring. Factors like general learning ability, class attendance, homework completion, study time for quizzes and tests, and effective test-taking strategies all contribute to success. Please be aware that attending tutoring alone is not a guarantee of success. I encourage students to allocate sufficient time outside the classroom and tutoring sessions for exam and quiz preparation. If there are concerns about the perception that tutoring substitutes for these vital elements, I will discuss them directly with the involved student and parent.
I appreciate the trust you place in me as a tutor, and I believe in fostering student independence and responsibility. For this reason, I do not communicate directly with teachers or professors on behalf of students or parents. Encouraging students to advocate for themselves helps build essential communication skills and personal accountability. Additionally, privacy considerations may prevent me from discussing student progress with educators.
Furthermore, while I am happy to provide guidance and support with coursework, I do not monitor or ensure the submission of homework assignments. Responsibility for completing and submitting assignments rests with students and their parents. I also do not participate in online quiz or exams. My role is to help students develop a deeper understanding of the material and equip them with the tools needed for academic success.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as I strive to create an environment conducive to effective learning and growth.
To best support each student, I may ask to see past homework, quizzes, or tests (when available from the teacher or professor). This is especially helpful when working with new students or those who join later in the semester, as it gives me a clear picture of how things have been going. Reviewing past work helps me understand current problem-solving skills and tailor sessions more effectively.
During a session, students and I usually focus on homework assignments, quiz preparation, and exam reviews. When class material is completed or a student is ready to move ahead, we may preview upcoming topics or even switch subjects, provided it’s an area I work with. Sessions are interactive and flexible, designed to meet each student where they are and give them the tools to succeed independently.
Refund Policy
I want every student to feel they are getting valuable support. While in nearly two decades of tutoring I have never had to refund a session fee, I am happy to do so if a student or parent feels that a session did not meet their expectations.
Please get in touch with me directly, and we can work out a solution. Refunds are straightforward, and as an alternative, I’m also happy to offer an additional session at no extra cost to ensure my students get the help they need.
