Hi, I’m Angie, a STEM educator and tutor with nearly 20 years of experience helping students gain confidence in math and science. I’ve worked with local tutoring programs and schools in the Dallas area, including Highland Park, Frisco, Plano, and as a staff tutor at Collin College (2015–2020).
I’ve also put together a Career Credentials Portfolio showcasing my academic background, professional experience, and certifications in STEM and Health Information Management. This portfolio provides a clear picture of my qualifications and ongoing commitment to learning and teaching in HIM and STEM.
I specialize in high school subjects like Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as college-level Chemistry and Biology. Whether you need test prep, homework help, or a deeper understanding of challenging concepts, my goal is to make learning simpler and more engaging.
Mission: To simplify higher-level math and science, empowering students and homeschool families to overcome challenges and succeed with confidence by creating supplemental practice opportunities, low-cost or free tutorials, and comprehensive review courses.
Values: Integrity, Empowerment, Accessibility, Commitment — guiding every tutoring session.

Payment Policy
Payment is due when the tutoring session is scheduled.
Discounts for packages of 5 and 10 sessions purchased in advance are available by request.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations or requests for rescheduling require a minimum of 24 hours' notice, with exceptions made for illness and family emergencies.
If a cancellation or rescheduling on my part is necessary, I will notify you at least 48 hours in advance, except in cases of illness or family emergencies.
Cancellations on my end are extremely rare. In the unlikely event that I’m unable to meet in person, I’ll offer a virtual tutoring session at the regular rate, or we can reschedule at a time that works for you. Of course, you will never be billed for a session I miss. I appreciate your understanding and aim to ensure that your learning experience is consistent and uninterrupted.
Late Arrivals and Frequent Cancellations
Repeated late arrivals or last-minute cancellations may result in the following actions:
Assessment of a $25 late cancellation fee.
Consideration of termination of future scheduling.
General Tutoring Policies
I believe in the importance of holistic student success, which encompasses factors beyond tutoring. Factors like general learning ability, class attendance, homework completion, study time for quizzes and tests, and effective test-taking strategies all contribute to success. Please be aware that attending tutoring alone is not a guarantee of success. I encourage students to allocate sufficient time outside the classroom and tutoring sessions for exam and quiz preparation. If there are concerns about the perception that tutoring substitutes for these vital elements, I will discuss them directly with the involved student and parent.
I appreciate the trust you place in me as a tutor, and I believe in fostering student independence and responsibility. For this reason, I do not communicate directly with teachers or professors on behalf of students or parents. Encouraging students to advocate for themselves helps build essential communication skills and personal accountability. Additionally, privacy considerations may prevent me from discussing student progress with educators.
Furthermore, while I am happy to provide guidance and support with coursework, I do not monitor or ensure the submission of homework assignments. Responsibility for completing and submitting assignments rests with students and their parents. I also do not participate in online quiz or exams. My role is to help students develop a deeper understanding of the material and equip them with the tools needed for academic success.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as I strive to create an environment conducive to effective learning and growth.
To best support each student, I may ask to see past homework, quizzes, or tests (when available from the teacher or professor). This is especially helpful when working with new students or those who join later in the semester, as it gives me a clear picture of how things have been going. Reviewing past work helps me understand current problem-solving skills and tailor sessions more effectively.
During a session, students and I usually focus on homework assignments, quiz preparation, and exam reviews. When class material is completed or a student is ready to move ahead, we may preview upcoming topics or even switch subjects, provided it’s an area I work with. Sessions are interactive and flexible, designed to meet each student where they are and give them the tools to succeed independently.
Refund Policy
I want every student to feel they are getting valuable support. While in nearly two decades of tutoring I have never had to refund a session fee, I am happy to do so if a student or parent feels that a session did not meet their expectations.
Please get in touch with me directly, and we can work out a solution. Refunds are straightforward, and as an alternative, I’m also happy to offer an additional session at no extra cost to ensure my students get the help they need.
