Systems of an Angel Shark
Skeletal System - The skeleton is made of cartilage designed to support the body and protect internal organs the skull has a flattened appearance so does the rest of the skeleton.
Muscular System- Angel sharks have their muscles concentrated in the pectoral fins which are used to walk along the bottom of the ocean and for propulsion. They have a caudal fin which is broad and flat when resting on the bottom of the ocean allowing to maintain stability.
Digestive System- Angel Sharks digestive system starts with the mouth which is located on the underside of the body near the tip of the snout and the jaws which have small sharp teeth to easily grip and tear prey. Once swallowed food moves to a two-chambered stomach. The first chamber is designed to grind the food and the second chamber breaks down the food with stomach acid.
Circulatory System- Angel Sharks have a two-chambered heart the gills are where it gets oxygenated than pumped to the rest of the body. Angel Sharks have five to seven pairs of gill slits on their head.
Nervous System- Angel Sharks have tiny tubes in their head functioning as electroreception organs which allow them to detect hidden prey.
