- Lesson 0: I was introduced to the class structure, made my website, and attached a link to my GitHub.
GitHub: https://github.com/ajespo55/EE322
- Lesson 1: I learned about engineering and design processes, and was shown some basic commands on the Raspberry Pi.
- Lesson 2: I went to office hours and fixed up my website a bit (i.e. added clickable GitHub link), was introduced to the design proposal, and learned about communicating with Raspberry Pis via wires connecting to transmitters and receivers (must share the same ground when two or more Pis involved).
- Lesson 3: I learned about the importance of formulating a precise problem statement and identifying the correct problem in order to help with a successful design process, as well as different methods/tests to do so.
- Lesson 4: I was introduced to the concept of searching for solutions in the proper way and various goals within the design process, as well as discussed different products and ideas within the artificial intelligence and machine learning field.
- Lesson 5: I learned about intellectual properties and how they relate to the design process, proper body language during presentations, more about my Raspberry Pi, and we also briefly discussed tips about limiting the spread of the Corona-virus.
- Lesson 6: This was the first online lecture, whee we went over some ideas in modeling that both built off of what I am currently learning in CPE-345 and covered new material, went through GitHub, previewed more of the labs, and learned of some YouTube channels to help with coding and operating systems.
- Lesson 7: I learned about the synthesis of the design process and the importance of having a problem for your solution, gaining the insight to "keep it simple," and figuring out to both avoid barriers to synthesis as well as learning advice to stimulate the design process.
- Lesson 8: I was shown some examples of both the ethical and legal considerations within the engineering industry, and we also dove into the world of automation and how complex it could be in terms of the previously mentioned considerations as well as the technology aspect, and I began thinking about my senior design project and who I wanted to group up with.
- Lesson 9: I was given information on the process of developing solutions to hazards that your design may come with by both breaking up failures into three levels and using root cause analysis, as well as many other helpful pieces of information, and we also further discussed the Corona-virus and tips on how to avoid infection.
- Lesson 10: This lecture was focused mostly on alternative designs and how not to approach a problem without being willing to change up some features of the solution, and we also discussed more of the design process from an economical point of view.
- Lesson 11: I learned about implementation and how important it can be to the success or failure of a design project, how to properly test and select materials for the final product, and how there are many different point of views to think about when developing a project, such as the consumer point of view or the manufacturer point of view.
- Review and Final: We went through the design process as a whole one last time, and I thought more about what I wanted to do for my senior design project and how to turn it into a reality, narrowing it down to a specific field of projects.
