Jennifer Angell-Greene is a distinguished alumna of the SUNY Delhi Veterinary Technology program and furthered her education at Mercy College, earning her BS. From her early years, Jennifer has been driven by a profound passion for working with and advocating for animals. This dedication led her to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a licensed veterinary technician.
Hailing from the vibrant agricultural town of Kirkville in Central New York, Jennifer's upbringing in this animal-rich environment ignited a deep love for creatures of all kinds. Her journey commenced with the rescue of her first kitten, Fluffy, along with his siblings Vanilla and Taffy, from a ditch. These feline companions quickly became cherished members of the Angell family. As Jennifer matured, her love for animals expanded beyond her own pets. Involvement in 4-H saw her passionately raising and showcasing rabbits, caring for orphaned lambs, and earning her beloved horse, Misty.
Jennifer's experience in nurturing and caring for a diverse array of pets includes rabbits, chinchillas, mice, hamsters, dogs, cats, sheep, and horses. Many of these animals were rescues, each contributing significantly to the person Jennifer has become.
With over three decades of dedication, Jennifer has applied her skills and knowledge to various local veterinary hospitals. More recently, she has made a meaningful impact on the lives of both pets and their owners at a local guide dog school. Her commitment to animal welfare and well-being continues to be the driving force behind her work, exemplifying a lifetime devoted to the care and advocacy of our beloved furry friends.
During my time as a technician, I have observed a significant demand for additional support among pet owners. Many individuals find themselves overwhelmed by the responsibility of performing treatments without assistance, requiring help in administering medications. Additionally, there are pet owners with older pets who cannot be by their side throughout the day but still require constant care. Furthermore, some pet owners choose to forego surgery due to concerns regarding their ability to provide adequate aftercare.Â
