I strive to develop an inclusive and welcoming environment where students are neither too afraid nor uncomfortable to ask questions. I like to inquire about my student's learning preferences so that I can tailor my discussion to these. This usually involves Q&A sessions for clarifying questions, worksheets and group work for practice and discussion, quizzes to encourage frequent review, and mini-lecture reviews to reinforce understanding.
