Help me recognize you, make things easy to find, and connect our NJCL

Salvete amici! My name is Angela Wu, and I'm so excited to be your National Communications Coordinator candidate. I live in Marietta, Georgia, but was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 8th grade, I began my Latin & JCL journey when I decided to wake up at 6 every day for zero-period Latin class, and back then, it was one of the hardest classes I had ever taken! It was during my first state convention in 2023 that I saw what JCL really was: a welcoming and warmhearted community that taught me almost everything I know today. 

From that statecon forward, I started looking forward to waking up early for Latin class, and when I chose to go to a high school without any Latin, I refused to accept a world without Classics, so I decided to bring the ancient world, along with my JCL community, with me.

After freshman-me asked hallways full of teachers that I've never met to sponsor my Latin Club, halo-t (haha!) of my classmates and teachers have asked me why I continue my Classics journey amidst adversity - and my answer to that is because of all of you! The community I found in JCL is filled to the brim of the most kind, fun, and supportive people that I have ever met, and when things get difficult, I think of you all to boost my morale & fuel my determination once again: It was at conventions that I met some of my closest friends, and meeting or reuniting with fellow JCLers always lifts me to cloud nine. Now, I'd like to give back to this incredible community by running as your next CoCo to transform the NJCL into the best it can be and also inspire even more people as it did for me.
