My vision is to use the skills I developed in my LETRS certification course to create a classroom where every student becomes a confident, capable reader. I want students to show higher than “typical growth” in their reading by the end of the year. I want my efforts to impact my learners’ future success in school! To support this, I will integrate innovative technology tools that personalize instruction, provide real-time data on student progress, and engage learners through interactive reading platforms. By leveraging technology, I aim to enhance evidence-based literacy practices and foster a more inclusive, responsive learning environment that accelerates growth for all students. My I believe education is a lifelong journey that should inspire curiosity and joy. My role as an educator is to model a love of learning, continue growing in my own practice, and create opportunities for students to do the same. When students see learning as exciting and meaningful, they are more engaged and motivated to develop habits that will serve them throughout life.
Curiosity is at the heart of my teaching. I strive to design lessons that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity, while offering multiple ways for students to learn and demonstrate understanding. By using a variety of approaches—discussion, hands-on projects, technology, collaboration, and independent inquiry—I ensure that each student can connect with learning in a way that fits their strengths while also stretching their growth.
Technology plays a vital role in expanding opportunities for students. When integrated with purpose, it allows learners to access resources, communicate ideas, and experience perspectives beyond the classroom. It also equips them with essential skills for an ever-changing world.
Just as important as academic growth is cultivating a classroom culture where learning is enjoyable and collaborative. I believe students thrive in environments that balance high expectations with encouragement, respect, and fun. By teaching the value of teamwork and celebrating diverse talents, I help students see how their contributions matter and how working together leads to deeper understanding.
My ultimate goal is to develop curious, capable learners who are confident in their abilities, open to new ideas, and prepared to pursue lifelong education. Through engaging instruction, meaningful use of technology, and a culture that values curiosity and collaboration, I aim to empower students to discover their potential and embrace learning as a fulfilling part of life.
I have always loved learning and am deeply passionate about education, leadership, and technology integration. I recently completed endorsements in Educational Technology, Instructional Coaching, and Teacher Mentoring, and I am currently completing a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership through Southern Utah University, with plans to finish my administrative licensure in summer 2026.
I spent nine years teaching at Quest Academy Charter School, where I taught both 2nd and 4th grade and served as a team lead and mentor to teachers. Quest Academy was foundational to my growth as an educator and leader. For the 2025–2026 school year, I transitioned to Syracuse Arts Academy as a K–6 Technology Specialist and Administrative Intern. In this role, I teach a wide range of learners through engaging, project-based technology experiences and collaborate with teachers to integrate meaningful technology into classroom instruction. I also serve as an Apple Coach, supporting teachers and paraprofessionals as they earn Apple Teacher certification and strengthen instructional and classroom management practices. Currently, I am back in the classroom at Weber County School District as a 5th teacher and school Mentor.
I live in Hooper, Utah, with my husband and five wonderful children (four boys and one girl). Our oldest son is married, which means we’ve gained another daughter to love. Hooper is home for us—several generations of our family have lived here, and we feel deeply connected to the community.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from Weber State University and a Master’s degree in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. Above all, being a mother is my greatest joy, and that role continues to shape my heart for children and education. I strive to bring energy, creativity, and purpose into every learning environment and consider it an honor to support students as they grow academically and personally.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cheering at sporting events, cycling, gardening, woodworking (yes—power tools!), and creating art. I share our home with a Bengal cat and a few Yorkies.
