I am an Economist on the Prime Economics Team at Amazon, where I leverage causal inference and machine learning to answer applied economic questions related to Prime customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, with the goal of producing data-driven insights that directly inform business decisions at scale.
My broader research interests lie in development economics, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. This body of work examines how climate and environmental shocks affect agricultural production, market participation, food security, labor supply, and human capital outcomes. I am particularly interested in household and market responses to extreme weather events, adaptation strategies such as livestock commercialization, and the use of modern econometric and machine-learning methods to inform policy and program design.
Prior to joining Amazon, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Seattle Pacific University, where I taught economics and statistics and conducted applied research in development and environmental economics.
