a round bowl with cut-work. the glaze i used for this piece is called "pistachio".
An assigned project in my ceramics class to build a vase with a stopper, i asked my instructor how many openings with stoppers my vase could have before presenting her with this idea. I made this for my sister, who loves Wes Anderson's "the Live Aquatic".
pinch pots are the most basic form of pottery. with these pieces, i wanted them to look like a type of coral or barnacle you would see in the ocean.
This piece was created in my Ceramics II class and is the assignment was to create a sculpture like piece. It was difficult to create as the base and hand part continued to collapse, which meant I had to find a several creative ways to solve this problem.
