Angolan English Language Teachers’ Association (ANELTA) is a non-for-profit association, formed in 2003. It is a national association of English language teachers with a large membership, affiliated to international organizations (IATEFL & AFRICA ELTA) and has large experience in organizing workshops, seminars and conferences. ANELTA is represented in the 18 provinces of Angola by its provintial coordinators, this makes the association massive and inclusive.

This is one of the ANELTA´s leading programs. A program launched on 5 July 2021 and implemented in Zaire (one of the 18 provinces of Angola).
Teachers of English were trained, English language students of three different levels (A1, A2, B1) participated in the program and an English Club was set. Overall, 100 people particpated in the program.
IT IS AN ONGOING PROGRAM
A training conducted in March 2020 by the British Council in its program English Connects in partnership with ANELTA.
Sixteen Club learders from different provinces participated in the face to face intensive training.

From January 2022 to March 2022, fifty-eight teachers of English from Angola participated in an online training led by International House of Bristol.
The aim of the course is to improve participants´ confidence in their English language skills teaching. It was not a teaching methodology course, although some of the aspects covered during the course touched upon that.

In July 2021 ANELTA, EFYCA and other partners organized the XVI English Language Festival which was held in Luanda, the capital city of Angola.
It was a one week Festival, teachers of English, researchers and English language speakers participated in the event some as panellist and others as attendees. We would like to highlight that the UK, US and Indian Embassies were also involved and supported the event.

A group of English langauge teachers in Cabinda participated in an ELT workshop organized by ANELTA.
The workshop aimed at improving teachers´ teaching expertise and skills, and how to better cope with some difficulties faced in their local teaching context.

This was a ceremony in which the UK Ambassadress officially presented the the new material for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to the Angolan Minister of Education.
