I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistics and Machine Learning (funded by the NeST Programme) at the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh, working with Patrick Rubin-Delanchy.
Prior to this, I was a Data Science Research Fellow at the Heilbronn Institute for Mathematical Research, based at the University of Bristol.
My research is based upon the widely-accepted hypothesis that high-dimensional data is in fact often concentrated around a low-dimensional manifold. By using various embedding techniques, we can access this low-dimensional structure, helping us to gain a clearer understanding of how the data truly looks, without being distracted by superfluous noise. Of particular interest to me is the study of networks (in particular dynamic networks, in which we can expect behaviour to evolve over time) and the development of tools to classify the behaviour of users within them.
