Dr. Andy Hodder is Reader in Employment Relations in Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. His research examines contemporary trade unionism in a range of contexts, and the impact of technology on employment relations. He has published on the relationship between young workers and trade unions, union use of social media and issues associated with union organisation, mobilisation and strike action.
Andy is co-editor-in-chief of New Technology, Work and Employment; Book Reviews Editor the Industrial Relations Journal, Academic Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; an Editorial Board Member of the Industrial Relations Journal, former Secretary of the British Universities Industrial Relations Association (2019-2022), and co-editor of the Bristol University Press book series: Understanding Work and Employment Relations.
