I am a Technical Assistance Advisor in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund. I lead capacity development missions focused on tax policy. My primary role involves advising countries on strategies to mobilizing revenue efficiently and equitably.

My research is concentrated on three primary areas: (i) analyzing the structure of tax and benefit systems in developing countries; (ii) examining the interplay between digitalization and revenue mobilization; and (iii) investigating the efficiency of infrastructure investment and its welfare implications.

Before assuming my current position, I served as a Senior Researcher at the Ethiopian Development Research Institute. Additionally, my roles included being a Fiscal Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of Ethiopia and a Public Investment Management Advisor at the Planning and Development Commission in Ethiopia.

Academically, I obtained a Ph.D. from Stockholm School of Economics, with a research focus on the monetary markets in developing countries. This specialization provided me with a deep insight into the unique economic challenges and opportunities present in these regions
