I am a Latvian philosopher specializing in European philosophy, personalism, and the intellectual history. My research focuses on philosophical metaphysics, and the transformations of philosophical thought in Central and Eastern Europe from the 19th to the 20th century.
I am currently a Senior Researcher and Associate Professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture and the principal investigator of the research project “Conversions and ruptures: epistemic strategies in Latvian philosophy during the Soviet period (1944-1991)” (lzp-2024/1-0650), funded by the Latvian Science Council.

The monograph “Person and Personalism: Enduring the Collapse of Idealism. The First Latvian Philosopher Jēkabs Osis” was rewarded by Latvian Academy of Sciences as one of the best achievements of the annual Science Achievements’ Competition.
The collective monograph “Latvia: Migration of Cultures” was rewarded by Latvian Academy of Sciences as one of the best achievements of the annual Science Achievements’ Competition. 2012.
The study "Jekabs Osis and Tartu School of Personalism" has received Zentas Maurinas prize by Latvian Academy of Sciences.
