Andrey V. Bzikadze

My name is Andrey Bzikadze, and I am a fourth year PhD student at Prof. Pavel Pevzner's lab at the University of California San Diego. My research interests cover various fields of bioinformatics, computational genomics, and immunogenomics. I work on genome assembly and, specifically, on human centromere assembly. I am the member of the Telomere-to-Telomere consortium.


My M.Sc. and B.Sc. are in Probability theory and Statistics with specialization in Statistical Modeling at the Saint Petersburg University, Russia where I wrote both my theses under supervision of Dr. Vladimir V. Nekrutkin.


I worked at the Center for Algorithmic Biotechnology at the Saint Petersburg University, Russia as a researcher under supervision of Dr. Yana Safonova.
