Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity
David Allen, in his book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity maps out the process most of us go through in trying to, well... get things done. The methodology this book details has been a key, life-changing learning for me; one I have benefitted from enormously in all areas of my life, not least studying in general and essay writing in particular.
The benefit of this book for essay writing is twofold:
There is the direct benefit of how to structure your time in achieving the many steps required to organise your academic life and write essays.
There is a secondary, indirect benefit, that all areas of your life will improve from implementing this methodology, creating quality time and reducing stress.
I could not recommend any book more highly than Getting Things Done for students and 'thought-workers' (those for whom thinking and the associated outcomes are the main 'product' they create) who need to produce assignments such as essays.
What this book offers will turbo-charge everything you do by providing the methodology and cognitive tools to do whatever you need to do. As the subtitle of the book alludes to, you will also find, in implementing this methodology, that you are less stressed. This is because you know what you have committed to, when assignments are due and you are able exercise control of your life in a way that is otherwise unlikely to occur.
Do yourself a huge favour and get Getting Things Done, so you can get things done more effectively and with less stress. You can thank me later. 😊
God bless and be with you as you get more organised and write awesome essays!
