We are the DeGroote Commerce Society (DCS), an organization of student leaders committed to fostering growth within the commerce faculty. We are dedicated to elevating the student body by fostering an environment for collaboration between students, faculty and our 20+ clubs and committees.
I was tasked with updating the branding for the DeGroote Commerce Society. I created a new yet familiar brand, featuring modern features and updated elements.
Pivot.
Pivoted brand messaging to be more student-focused, celebrating the connections we foster between our partners, faculty and students.
Redesign.
Designed a new logo and brand package with updated fonts, colours, and elements. Further cementing the DCS as a cornerstone in the McMaster community.
Craft.
I crafted comprehensive Brand and Communications Guidelines to maintain cohesive brand identity and messaging across all channels, ensuring consistency across channels both internal and external.
Primary Logo.
Our general logo is used throughout branding materials both physical and digital.
Wordmark.
Used as a separate element. Complementary addition to the DCS Combination Mark.
Lettermark.
Standalone element used for decorative purposes. Not an alternative to the primary logo.
Emblem.
Used as a standalone element. Used in profile pictures, and decorative arrangements.

As part of our annual Board of Directors meeting, we shared our new vision for the DeGroote Commerce Society, establishing our future goals. We are committed to “Connecting DeGroote: Building Opportunity, Becoming Accessible, and Bridging Community"
Managed multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn, cultivating a dedicated following of 7500+ through strategic content planning and audience engagement.
The DCS rebrand helped revitalize our image in the eyes of the students. Our new branding helped us regain our footing as the primary link between students and faculty at the DeGroote School of Business. We’ve received positive feedback from the faculty, the DeGroote community and prospective students, all citing its modern look and feel as well as its new student-focused approach.
