After serving his country, Doro returned to St. John's University to earn advanced master's degrees in management, education, and psychology. Andrew P. Doro was responsible for combat, pacification, and intelligence operations as a platoon leader in the United States Army. In this role, Doro witnessed significant action. The battle wounds he sustained rendered him disabled. Doro's military service resulted in him receiving numerous citations, including:

In addition to his military, academic, and professional achievements, Mr. Doro served on the board of a Veteran Outreach Center. He also served as a veteran crisis intervention group counselor with PTSD and served as:
Chairperson, Conference Committee for New York Association of School Psychologists
Crisis intervention and group counselor for veterans with PTSD
Membership in The Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Military Officers Association of America, and Combat Infantry Badge Association.
In 2022, Andrew Doro led Millbrook's efforts to become a sponsor for Homes for Our Troops, an organization that helps build homes and supports the lives of severely injured veterans. Homes for Our Troops seeks to restore some of the freedom and independence lost by some veterans due to their military service.
Doro enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends, playing racquetball/squash, tennis, and golf, traveling, and appreciating international cuisine/wines when he is not working or engaged in charitable and community activities. Andrew P. Doro resides in Millbrook, New York, but spends considerable time in Manhasset, New York, where he lived for over a decade and maintained one of the Company's offices. It was a privilege to serve my country in uniform, and it is a blessing and an honor to continue serving my fellow citizens, government agencies, and commercial clients.
