Tides & Waves
Tides:
Tides are made by the gravitational pull of both the moon and the sun. Tides are long-period waves that move through the ocean because of the gravitational pull. when tides rise to the highest point it is known as a "high tide" whereas when it is at its lowest it is known as a "low tide". the difference between a high tide and a low tide can be found in the tidal range. the easiest way to find where the tide is; is by where it lands along the coastlines. The Horizontal movement of water, which it focuses on the rising and falling of the tide, is also known as the tidal current. Tidal currents usually transport sediment, just like a longshore current does. Tidal currents on the open coast are not quick enough to transport sand.
