Hello!

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Duke University and a pre-doctoral fellow with the America in the World Consortium (AWC). I am interested in the connections between domestic politics and international relations, and my primary research agenda focuses on U.S. foreign policy and Congress.  I am on the 2024-2025 academic job market, and my JMP (which derives from my broader dissertation) is here.

My dissertation project characterizes and explains congressional expression and public opinion on foreign relations from 1945 to 2022.  Some of my other academic work is published or accepted at the Journal of Politics, Journal of Peace Research, Presidential Studies Quarterly and the Journal of Cold War Studies, and my policy commentary and reports can be found in Small Wars Journal, Lawfare, and various Brookings Institution outlets.  I also was the Graduate Fellow in Duke's program in American Grand Strategy ('21-23), an International Policy Scholars Consortium and Network (IPSCON) Junior Scholar ('22-'23), and am currently a Graduate Fellow with the Triangle Institute for Security Studies ('22-).

Before starting graduate school, I was a research analyst at the Brookings Institution, and the head coach of the varsity girls rowing team at the Jackson-Reed Public High School.  I hold a B.A. in government from Dartmouth College.
